Tell us a little about your current role and what you enjoy most about it?
I am responsible for financial planning and analysis. My team and I collect, analyze and summarize information from all our businesses and subsidiaries for upper management review and action. I love the interaction we have with all the people in our organization.
Who is the most influential/empowering woman you know? How does she inspire you?
This might sound like a cliché, but my mother has been the person who empowered me the most in my youth. She never went to high school since she got married at 15. However, she understood the importance of an education. My mother always made sure we took school seriously. She would always tell me that I needed to be self-reliant because you never know what life would bring. Having a formal education would open doors to jobs that would bring a better life than she had. She would make me pick strawberries with her on weekends and tell me you do not want to do this work. You need to study. Nobody in my family had gone to college before me, so her constant support was what kept me driven to do better and make my parents proud.
