In this newly created position, Steenberge will coordinate Teledyne's strategic thrust to significantly expand its base of products and services for rapidly growing broadband communication applications. Teledyne Technologies currently develops and manufactures components and subsystems used in wireless, satellite and fiber optic communication equipment. These products include monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), traveling wave tubes, microwave filters and fiber optic transmitters and receivers.

"In this new role, Bob will lead a small corporate team charged with expanding our presence in specific broadband communication markets where we have significant core competencies and growth potential."

Steenberge joined Teledyne in 1976 and has held a series of senior technical and managerial positions including vice president of engineering at Teledyne Electronics and president of Teledyne Ryan Electronics. His most recent position has been vice president of advanced development for Teledyne Technologies' Electronics and Communications segment. During his tenure with Teledyne, Steenberge has been responsible for the development of secure communications equipment, microwave transmitters and receivers and phased array antennas, and is closely involved with the company's current pilot production efforts for micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS).

Steenberge has a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Clarkson University. He has served on the national board of directors for the American Electronics Association and is a member of the engineering advisory board of the University of San Diego.
