HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (June 5, 2000)-Teledyne Brown Engineering announced today it has reached agreement with IFS to form a strategic alliance to offer IFS' eBusiness TM and IFS Applications TM enterprise software to public and private sector customers.
The alliance will allow Teledyne Brown Engineering to combine its expertise in working with government customers with IFS' leading component-based software solutions.
"Our IFS Applications solution has previously been successfully implemented in various European government agencies, specifically in defense applications," said Terje Vangbo, president and chief executive office of IFS North America. "Our partner strategy is to form a few key strategic alliances to capitalize on the strengths in our products by working closely with companies that can successfully deliver them. One of the leaders in this market is Teledyne Brown Engineering."
Vangbo added, "Defense agencies need solutions that seamlessly integrate the traditional functions of the enterprise, together with managing and servicing high-priced assets. IFS has taken this a step further by making it easy and cost effective to move these operations to a Web-based environment."

"It puts us in a unique position of leadership for providing logistics systems applications, and for a variety of e-government applications solutions, by taking advantage of IFS' superiority in commercial e-business applications, and of our ability to deliver special purpose solutions for both civilian and Department of Defense agencies."
John Irby, vice president of Information Technology for Teledyne Brown, agreed, saying, "We provide a wide range of IT solutions, including our growing e-business and e-government systems integration solutions practice.
