Teledyne Brown Names Hamilton Program Manager For Unmanned Aerial Systems
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (May 2, 2005) - Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. (TBE) announced today that Jerry Hamilton has been named Program Manager of its Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) division. Most recently Hamilton served as Program Manager for Omnibus 2000 programs in support of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM).
In his new position, Hamilton will be responsible for delivering to the U.S. Army a Future Combat System (FCS) Class III unmanned aerial vehicle. In November 2004, Teledyne Brown announced an alliance with Rheinmetall Defence Electronics GmbH of Germany to bring a family of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to the U.S. Currently, TBE provides two UAVs; Prospector, the multipurpose reconnaissance system, and Thunder, a day/night all weather system that will be manufactured by TBE.
"Jerry is the right person to spearhead this effort," said Jim Link, president, Teledyne Brown Engineering. "His experience with the Army and background with FCS give him the necessary insight to meet this critical military need."
Since joining Teledyne Brown in 2000, Hamilton has worked as the Program Manager for several contracts including modeling and simulation support to Lockheed Martin for the FCS, Unmanned Ground Vehicle (MULE) and survivability analysis support to AM General, designers and manufacturers of the Jeep and Humvee, for the Future Tactical Truck System.
Hamilton, a 1972 graduate of West Point, retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Colonel after 28 years of service. His last position was as Program Manager, Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment for the U.S. Army AMCOM. Hamilton also worked as Deputy Program Manger, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Research, Development, and Acquisition) (ASA(RDA)). He also managed the Avenger air defense missile system program for the U.S. Army Missile Command.
