Northrop Grumman Selects Teledyne Technologies for Low Band Traveling Wave Tubes

LOS ANGELES - Feb. 22, 2000 - Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) announced today that its Microwave Electronic Component (MEC) business unit has been selected by Northrop Grumman's Electronic Sensors and Systems Sector to provide the low band traveling wave tube (TWT) for the AN/ALQ-135 Internal Countermeasures System. The TWT will be used in the Band 1.5 transmitter of the system. Teledyne Technologies has previously provided virtually all of the TWT's for the Band 3 transmitter, also used in the system.

The AN/ALQ-135 is the most advanced and powerful internal tactical RF jammer in the U.S. Air Force inventory and is used on F-15E aircraft. The addition of the Band 1.5, used in concert with the Band 3, will complete full spectrum protection for the F-15E. Teledyne Technologies anticipates the production for the Band 1.5 TWT to extend for five years, with production of spares to continue for as long as the F-15E is in the Air Force inventory.

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (www.teledyne.com) is a leading provider of sophisticated electronics and communication products, systems engineering solutions and aerospace engines and components. With 1999 revenues of $803 million, Teledyne Technologies employs approximately 5,800 persons in the United States, the United Kingdom and Mexico.
